Speech Therapy Solutions for Your Family

Does your child have a speech or language disorder? Or are you concerned about their speech or language development?

If so, we’re here to help.

At Forte Speech & Language Therapy, we can help with a wide variety of concerns related to speech and language.

Below, you’ll find more information on some of our areas of clinical expertise.

Does your child pronounce sounds or words incorrectly? Do you or others have difficulty understanding them? If so, they may have a speech sound disorder. This includes childhood apraxia of speech, dysarthria, articulation disorders, and phonological disorders. At Forte Speech & Language Therapy, we can help.

Early Intervention

Does it seem like your child isn’t developing their language skills the way you would expect? If so, you might be tempted to just “wait and see”. But if you have concerns, it’s best to have your child assessed by a speech therapist. Research shows that early intervention speech therapy can help to prevent future language and literacy difficulties.

Every child is unique, and will develop in their own way. That said, there are certain developmental milestones they’re expected to meet. If you have concerns about your child’s ability to communicate or understand language, an assessment will provide more information and determine if they need speech therapy.

Does your child seem to stutter or get “stuck” on sounds or words? Do they seem frustrated as they try to communicate? Does this impact their ability to effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas? If so, they may have a stuttering or cluttering disorder. Speech therapy can help them overcome these challenges.

Does your child have difficulty speaking in some or all situations? If so, AAC provides another way to communicate other than speaking. From picture supports to speech generating devices, AAC can help your child find their voice. At Forte Speech & Language Therapy, we’re here to help.

Our Speech Therapy Services

At Forte Speech & Language, we work with adults and kids from the comfort of their home.

Below, you can find out more information about each service and how our speech therapy clinic can help.

From the time they’re infants, children spend their time absorbing the world around them. As they understand how to control their body, they also learn to imitate the sounds they hear from the people around them. If your son or daughter isn’t developing their speech, language or communication skills as expected, they may need support from a pediatric speech-language pathologist.

In some cases, adults will seek out speech therapy for a condition they’ve had since they were a child. But more often, it’s a new concern. Certain conditions can affect your speech as you age, which may present challenges in your communication. But there is hope. Whatever your speech or language concerns, speech therapy can help you communicate with confidence.

Does your child have an IEP? If so, it may feel overwhelming to navigate the process. Our team of professionals has years of school-based experience and can help. This includes reviewing IEP documents, attending IEP meetings, and providing consultative services for school-based IEP teams. From AAC coaching to classroom strategy recommendations, programs and more, we’re here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions about Speech & Language Therapy

Do you have questions about our speech therapy clinic, therapy sessions and assessments, or about speech therapy in general?

If so, you may find your answer below.

If you would like to know more, please call or send us a message for further assistance. We’re happy to answer any questions you have about speech therapy.

Yes, because different speech, language, and communication disorders can have similar symptoms. It’s important to make sure we know what we’re dealing with before we build a treatment plan for individuals. However, if you’ve received an evaluation from another speech therapist within the last year, we can use that. Please note that doctor referrals or diagnoses aren’t required before you visit a speech therapist or start a treatment program.

We are considered out of network providers, so we don’t bill insurance directly. However, our office staff can provide you with a super bill with the treatment and diagnostic codes you’ll need to submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement of fees.

Private speech therapy isn’t restricted by California’s educational codes or by any rules imposed by your insurance provider. As a result, your speech pathologist can tailor your treatment sessions to your individual needs more effectively, increasing your potential to see results and success.

A private session also allows for in-home parent coaching and collaboration, to help with progress and achieving goals.

While we’re located in Los Angeles, we’re licensed to provide speech therapy services to everyone within the state of California. If you’re located in another part of California, we can still provide virtual consultations and speech-language therapy for you or your child. Teletherapy is an effective and engaging option for clients of all ages to experience the benefits of speech-language therapy.

These are all terms used to refer to the same profession. In recent years, we’ve moved more toward speech-language pathology as a term. This is because “speech therapist” doesn’t cover everything we do. Speech pathologists do work with speech disorders, but also language disorders, which can relate to reading and writing as well.
