In School Speech Therapy Evaluations
Forte Speech & Language Therapy offers comprehensive speech and language therapy evaluations for school age children, including Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE).
Evaluation reports include:
- Record review
- Observations of student in the school setting
- Parent and teacher interview
- Formal and informal speech and language assessments
- Attendance at IEP meetings as needed
Reports also include individualized recommendations with suggested service time and IEP goals.
We also offer comprehensive AAC evaluations, which include the following:
- Speech and language assessment
- AAC device trials

The report will also include appropriate recommendations for low tech to high tech AAC systems and supports.

School Based Speech Teletherapy Services
Where required, Forte Speech & Language Therapy can offer online pediatric speech therapy services (teletherapy) to schools across California.
That means no matter where in California your school is located, Forte Speech & Language Therapy can provide the services your students need.
In some cases, people view teletherapy as a sort of stop gap – better than nothing, but no substitute for the real thing.
However, research has shown this isn’t the case.
A 2021 report by ASHA staff looked at teletherapy, and found the rate of clients who opted for speech teletherapy made a statistically identical level of progress when compared with in person speech therapy. This confirms the results of an earlier study, from 2003 by Mashima Et. Al.
In 2017, Wales, Skinner, and Hayman published “The Efficacy of Telehealth-Delivered Speech and Language Intervention for Primary School-Age Children: A Systematic Review”. In that study, they came to the following conclusion:
Findings showed there is limited but promising evidence to support telehealth for delivering speech-language pathology intervention services to school-age children…[T]his is encouraging, particularly for rural children where in-person services are limited.
They do admit that more research is needed in this area, but there is a growing body of work showing that speech and language teletherapy services are an effective way to provide therapy.
